Psalms 4

O God, You have declared me perfect in your eyes; you have always cared for me in my distress; now hear me as I call again. Have mercy on me. Here my prayer.

The Lord God asks, “Sons of men, will you forever turn my glory into shame by worshiping these silly idols, when every claim that’s made for them is false?”

Mark this well: The Lord has set apart the redeemed for himself. Therefore he will listen to me and answer when I call to him. Stand before the Lord in awe, and do not sin against him. Lie quietly upon your bed in silent meditation. put your trust in the Lord, and offer him pleasing sacrifices.
Many say that God will never help us. Prove them wrong. O Lord, by letting the light of your face shine down upon us. Yes, the gladness you have given me is far greater than their joys at harvest time as they gaze at their bountiful crops. I will lie down in peace and sleep, for though I am alone, O Lord, you will keep me safe.

If we “ONLY BELIEVE”

In Matthew 8:8 We ready of a man who “ONLY BELIEVED” ….

This is what we are called to…to have faith.

In Mathew 8:8 Then the officer said, “Sir, I am not worthy to have you in my home. [and it isn't necessary for you to come]. If you will only stand here and say, ‘be headed,’ my servant will get well! I know, because I am under the authority of my superior officers and I have authority over my soldiers, and I say to one, ‘Go’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come’ and he comes, and to my slave boy, ‘Do this or that,’ and he does it. And I know you have authority to tell his sickness to go—and it will go!”
Jesus stood there amazed!
_________
The cool thing about this was this officer was a Roman officer. The Romans had pledged to take out Jesus and here is a man of true faith and he knows Jesus could do it.

I love the line that says Jesus stood there amazed. I imagine it was not easy to amaze Jesus, The son of God, but at this moment he as blown away at this man’s faith.

In doing our part, we need to ask God, he is willing to answer if we ask with a heart that says “ONLY BELIEVE” and it will be done.

Faith in your life shows its true colors when faced with difficult circumstances.

There will be difficulties in your life, but where do you turn to?

Do you believe?

Do you have the Faith it takes to Stand against what is happening and to TRUST GOD that the outcome is in his hands?

Are you willing to accept the Outcome based on your Trust in GOD?

What is Faith?

Daily Scripture of the Day

Hebrews 11:1  What is Faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. Men of God in days of old were famous for their faith.

Psalms 20

In your day of trouble, may the Lord be with you! May the God of Jacob keep you from all harm. May He send you aid from his sanctuary in Zion. May he remember with pleasure the gifts you have given him, your sacrifices and burnt offerings. May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans. May there  be shouts of Joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you. May he answer all your prayers!

“God Save the King”—I know he does! He ears me from highest heaven and sends great victories. Some nations boast of armies and of weaponry, but our boast is in the Lord our God. Those nations will collapse and perish; we will arise to stand firm and sure!
Give victory to our king, O Lord; oh, hear our prayer.

Sam’s Response.

When we rely upon God to answer our prayers we must believe. To have great faith it to expect what God has promised in his Word will come to be. Also we must remember that God is not going to bless us and answer prayers that he knows would harm us or take us away from him.

I love the way Smith Wigglesworth put it in my daily devotional. “The best time you have is when you are in the most difficult position.”  Why is that? That is where your faith shines through, it is a place where you are broken and God is God. You look to him for assurance and to carry you through when you can not. There have been many occasions in my life when I was in this place. For a long time, I would try to work through it with my own power, but I was overcome and overwhelmed with the circumstances. I did not have the Confident assurance that something we want is going to happen.

When we look at the problems and troubles from our worldly eyes, then most often we will struggle to get through and make the right choices. But when we look to our creator, God, for help and we trust he will hear, he will see us through. It amazes me at how many curve balls life can throw at you. It seems like my life at times has been one big curve ball. Then I look at my children and see the blessings of God and all he has done.

Give thanks to the Lord for all he has done…Do not look at the lack in your life, look at what you have to be grateful for. You are blessed….There is much to live for and lots to do in these late days of biblical times we live in.

Rise up and have faith…Faith in God.

But I stand silently before the Lord, waiting for him to rescue me. For salvation comes from him alone. Yes he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense and fortress—Why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?

My Protection and success come from God Alone. He is my refuge, a Rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust him all the time. Pour out your longings before him, for he can help! the greatest of men, or the lowest—both alike are nothing in his sight. They weigh less than air on scales.

Don’t become rich by extortion and robbery. And don’t let the rich men be proud. He is loving and kind and rewwards each one of us according to the work we do for him.

Psalms 63:1-4

O GOd, My God! How I search for you! How I thirst for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. How I long to find you ! How I wish I could go into your sanctuary to see your strenght and glory, for your love and kindness are better to me than life itself. HOw I praise you! I will bless you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.

When Reading in Genesis 28, we continue with the life of Jacob. Earlier in his life, he had an encounter with God while he was alone, and have the great vision that we have come to know as Jacob’s ladder.

21 years later we see Jabob heading to meet up with his brother, Esau. Now Great favor had been bestowed upon Esau. While on the way to meet up with him, Jacob came to they came and camped next to a river. In the middle of the night, he awoke his party and sent  them across the river. But he stayed behind, alone..Alone with God.

For the remainder of the night, Jacob wrestled with the (Man), Which we know from the reading was the Lord. Jacob refused to stop wrestling and said: “I will not let you go until you bless me.”

Being alone with God and seeking God daily and feverently builds and strengths your walk with the Lord. My protection and success comes from God ALONE.

He is My Rock.

God wants us to have an active faith that is seeking him. In Proverb’s 16:7 … It says “When a man is trying to please God, God makes even his worst enemies to be at peace with him.”

One way to please God is to commit your day to him. Give him your first of the day everyday. Faithfully seek to know his word. The Bible.

God will never let go if you don’t let go…

What is Your Plan For 2009? Are You Including God?

By sam · Comments (0)
Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Welcome to the first post of 2009 at the Word of God online!

2009 is here and I am committed to working a plan throughout the year. For the past 2 weeks I have been thinking alot about this and reflecting upon my direction.

Is this direction God’s Plan or My own plan?

Well, I want to do God’s Bidding and server him not this world. So the biggest part of my plan is right here at the Word of God Online site where I am committing before God and YOU to start everyday by posting here and reading the word.

Do you have Your Plan For The New Year?

Scripture of the Day.
Isaiah 55:9
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours.

Scripture Reading for Jan 1 2009

Genesis 28: 10-28

So Jacob left Beer-sheba and journeyed toward Haran. That night, when he stopped to camp at sundown, he found a rock for a headrest and lay down to sleep, and dreamed that a staircase reached from earth to heaven, and he saw the angels of God going up and down upon it.

At the top of the stairs stook the Lord. “I am Jehovah”, he said, “the God of Abraham, and of your father Isac. The ground you are lying on is yours! I will give it to you and to your descendants. For you will have descendants as many as dust! Then will cover the land from east to west and from north to sough; and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants. What’s more, I am with you, and will protect you wherever you go, and will bring you back safely to this land; I will be with you constantly until I have finished giving you all I am promising.”

Then Jacob woke up. “God lives here!” he exclaimed in terror. “I’ve stumbled into his home! This is the awesome entrance to heaven!” The next morning he got up very early and set his stone headrest upright as a memorial pillar, and poured olive oil over it. He named the place Bethan (“House of God”), though the previous name of the nearest village was Luz.

And Jacob vowed this vow to God; “If God will help nad protect me on this journey and give me food and clothes, and will bring me back safely to my father, then I will choose Jehovah as my God! And this memorial pillar shall become a place for worship; and I will give you back a tenth of everything you give me!”

Here on New Years day we are all excited about 2009 and many of us make plans. So of us make new commitments to make this year a better year.

We may set goals and strive to achieve them based on our human thinking. We may attain them even and look back and say…”Look at all I have done this year!”

It may be a good plan…but…

There is another plan that is even better that many of us miss.

God’s plan…

God’s plan for our lives and what he wants to do with and through us.

What is your plan?

I am reading a very good book called the Power of Vision and late last night into the new year I was reading this book and I really began to understand that which we all seek and the answer to the question…”Why am I here and how do I find it, this vision and purpose for my life?”

In the book it explains it this way.

If you keep getting thoughts coming back to you about things you should be doing or passion for a certain area about your life, there is a very strong possibility that God is speaking to you. To your heart about what PLAN and PURPOSE he wants you to fulfill.

There is YOUR PLAN and then there is GOD’S Plan…

Which plan are you going to follow this year?

Will you be ready to act when God calls you to that plan?

I pray that God Reveals to you his purpose and plan for your life in 2009!

Feel free to comment on this and lets get a discussion going.

No Condemnation In Christ Jesus

Today’s Scripture Reading is From Romans 8 from the Living Bible

Scripture of the Day

So there is now no condemnation awaiting for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

For the power of the life-giving spirit—and this power is mine through Christ Jesus–Has freed me from the vicious circle of sin and death.

WE aren’t saved from sin’s grasp by knowing the commandments of God, because we can,t and don’t keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours—except that ours are sinful—and destroyed sin’s control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins. So now we can obey God’s laws if we follow after the Holy Spirit and no longer obey the evil nature with us.

Those who let themselves be controlled by their lower natures live only to please themselves, but those who follow after the Holy Spirit find themselves doing those things that please God.

Following after the Holy Spirit leads to life and peace, but following after the old nature leads to death,
Because the old sinful nature within us is against God. It never did obey God’s laws and it never will.

That’s why those who are still under the control of their old evil desires can never please God.

But you are not like that. You are controlled by your new nature if you have the Spirit of God living in you.(and remember that if anyone doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ living in him, he is not a Christian at all)

Yet, even though Christ lives within you, your body will die because of sin,; But your spirit will live, for Christ has pardoned it. And if the Spirit of God who raised up Jesus fro the dead, lives in  you, he will make your dying bodies live again after you die, bu means of this same Holy Spirit living within you.

So dear brothers, you have no obligations whatever to  your old sinful nature to do what it begs you to do. For if you keep on following it you are lost and will perish, but if through the power of the Holy Spirit you crush it and its evil deeds, you shall live.

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

And so we should not be like cringing, fearful slaves, but we should behave like Gd’s very own children, adopted into the bosom of his family, and calling to him, “Father, Father.”

For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our heart, and tells us that we really are God’s Children.

And since we are his children, we will share his treasures—For all God gives to his Son Jesus is now ours too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
