What is Your Plan For 2009? Are You Including God?

By sam · Comments (0)
Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Welcome to the first post of 2009 at the Word of God online!

2009 is here and I am committed to working a plan throughout the year. For the past 2 weeks I have been thinking alot about this and reflecting upon my direction.

Is this direction God’s Plan or My own plan?

Well, I want to do God’s Bidding and server him not this world. So the biggest part of my plan is right here at the Word of God Online site where I am committing before God and YOU to start everyday by posting here and reading the word.

Do you have Your Plan For The New Year?

Scripture of the Day.
Isaiah 55:9
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours.

Scripture Reading for Jan 1 2009

Genesis 28: 10-28

So Jacob left Beer-sheba and journeyed toward Haran. That night, when he stopped to camp at sundown, he found a rock for a headrest and lay down to sleep, and dreamed that a staircase reached from earth to heaven, and he saw the angels of God going up and down upon it.

At the top of the stairs stook the Lord. “I am Jehovah”, he said, “the God of Abraham, and of your father Isac. The ground you are lying on is yours! I will give it to you and to your descendants. For you will have descendants as many as dust! Then will cover the land from east to west and from north to sough; and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants. What’s more, I am with you, and will protect you wherever you go, and will bring you back safely to this land; I will be with you constantly until I have finished giving you all I am promising.”

Then Jacob woke up. “God lives here!” he exclaimed in terror. “I’ve stumbled into his home! This is the awesome entrance to heaven!” The next morning he got up very early and set his stone headrest upright as a memorial pillar, and poured olive oil over it. He named the place Bethan (“House of God”), though the previous name of the nearest village was Luz.

And Jacob vowed this vow to God; “If God will help nad protect me on this journey and give me food and clothes, and will bring me back safely to my father, then I will choose Jehovah as my God! And this memorial pillar shall become a place for worship; and I will give you back a tenth of everything you give me!”

Here on New Years day we are all excited about 2009 and many of us make plans. So of us make new commitments to make this year a better year.

We may set goals and strive to achieve them based on our human thinking. We may attain them even and look back and say…”Look at all I have done this year!”

It may be a good plan…but…

There is another plan that is even better that many of us miss.

God’s plan…

God’s plan for our lives and what he wants to do with and through us.

What is your plan?

I am reading a very good book called the Power of Vision and late last night into the new year I was reading this book and I really began to understand that which we all seek and the answer to the question…”Why am I here and how do I find it, this vision and purpose for my life?”

In the book it explains it this way.

If you keep getting thoughts coming back to you about things you should be doing or passion for a certain area about your life, there is a very strong possibility that God is speaking to you. To your heart about what PLAN and PURPOSE he wants you to fulfill.

There is YOUR PLAN and then there is GOD’S Plan…

Which plan are you going to follow this year?

Will you be ready to act when God calls you to that plan?

I pray that God Reveals to you his purpose and plan for your life in 2009!

Feel free to comment on this and lets get a discussion going.

Are You Tuned Into God’s Channel or The Worlds Channel?

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

It is the last Day of 2008 and many of us are reflecting and thinking about the upcoming year.

Many people make New Years Resolutions only to break them before the 1st month of the year is up.

I would like you to look long and hard at making a different kind of New Years Resolution. Make 2009 the year you will always give God your first everyday. Weather it is 10 minutes of an hour. Wake up and nourish your relationship with God first. This is my resolution and I am dedicated to keeping it. I hope you will help me keep it by reminding me if you see me NOT posting on the site daily…

Lets Step up our Faith this year in a big way. I know as it is already happening, that God has shown me that the needs around you are going to exponentially grow this upcoming year. So let’s stay on fire and be awake for what God’s shows us.

Are you Tuned In with God?

Scripture Verse of the day
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you
Matthew 6:38

Scripture reading

2 Peter 1

All of you who have our kind of faith. The faith I speak of is the kind that Jesus Christ our God and Savior gives to us. How precious it is, and how just and good he is to give this same faith to each of us.

Do you want more and more of God’s Kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better. For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life; he even shares his own glory and his goodness with us! And by that same mighty power he has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings he promised : for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and rottenness all around us, and to give us his own character.

But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do. Next learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you. This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply. The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to or Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind indeed, or at least very shortsighted, and has forgotten that God delivered him from the old life of sin so that now he can live a strong, good life for the Lord.

So, dear brothers, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen, and then you will never stumble or fall away. And God will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I plan to keep on reminding you of these things even though you already know them and are really getting along quite well!

But the Lord Jesus Christ has showed me that my days here on earth are numbered, and I am soon to die. As long as I am still here I intend to keep sending these reminder to you, hoping to impress them so clearly upon you that you will remember them long after I have gone.

For we have not been telling you fairy tales when we explained to you the power of our Lord Jesus Christ and his coming again. My own eyes have seen his splendor and his glory: I was there on the holy mountain when he shone out with honor given him by God his Father; I heard that glorious, majestic voice calling down from heaven, saying, “This is my much-loved Son; I am well pleased with him”

So we have seen and proved that what the prophets said came true. You will do well to pay close attention to everything they have written, for, like lights shinning into dark corners, their words help us to understand many things that otherwise would be dark and difficult. But when you consider the wonderful truth of the prophets’ words, then the light will dawn in your souls and Christ the Morning Star will shine in your heart. For no prophecy recorded in Scripture was ever thought up by the prophet himself. It was the Holy Spirit within these godly men who gave them true messages from God.
