Blessed are the Poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
The wealth of this earth is temporary as our real riches for those who believe are in heaven.
We work and work and work down here trying to “get ahead” and buy the “finer things” of life. But all the houses and cars and t.v.’s and computers and cell phones and furniture and all the stuff we hold onto here is very short termed. Many people get caught up in attaining wealth here on earth that they will tromp over others to get it. We have all seen over the past several years the issues with greed rearing its ugly head through crashes like Enron.
Those that exploit others will be judged by God on that final day.
What is the sense of wealth here if it comes at the expense of hurting others?
Many people often mis-interpret the Bible and think that to be a Christian means we have to be poor. Many people mis-interpret the Bible where it says…”the root of evil is the love of money!” It is not the money that is the problem. God has and will continue to rise up wealth warriors for his kingdom. It is the “LOVE” of money. It is putting money BEFORE God that is an issue. It is the explotation of others to gain money that is evil.
Now we can argue what is explotation all we want and I have had this discussion with others, but ultimately if you are a Christian, the spirit will let you know when you are moving towards explotation. That is the cool thing about being a Christian. When sin enters into your life, the holy spirit will convict you and quicken your spirit to let you know that you are heading in the wrong direction.
As the scripture reading of the day says…”It is better to have little and be godly than to own an evil man’s wealth.”
Do not mis-interpret the scripture about money. The word of GOd says he will bless us in all ways…this includes finances. I believe God wants each of us to have an abundance.
So why don’t many?
I believe God withholds it because he knows if we have abundance finances that it will destroy us and take us away from God. It is only when you are “sold out” for the Lord and your spirit is one of giving and using the excess to further God’s Kingdom, that he will pour out this excess.
I truly believe I will have an abundance when the time is right, when I am right inside about how to handle money.
