Scripture verse of the day Matthew 8:3

Jesus touches the man.  I want to, he said; be healed.  And instantly the each leprosy disappears.

Scripture reading of the day

Mark 1:28 – 45

The news of what he had done spread quickly through the entire area of Galilee.

Then, leaving the synagogue he and his disciples went over to Simon and Andrew’s home, where they found Simon’s mother-in-law sick in bed with a high fever.  They told Jesus about her right away.  He went to her bedside, and as he took her by the hand and helped her to sit up,  the fever suddenly left and she got up and prepared a meal for them.

From the Living Bible

Scripture Verse of The Day

2 Corinthians 3:2-3

The only letter I need is you yourselves! By looking at the good change in your hearts, everyone can see that we have done a good work among you. They can see that you are a letter from Christ, written by us. It is not a letter written with pen and ink, but by the Spirit of the Living God; not one carved on stone, but in human hearts.

Scripture Reading of The Day

Matthew 8:14-27

When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother in law was in bed with a high fever. But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her; and she got up and prepared  meal for them!

That evening several demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus; and when he spoke a single word, all the demons fled; and all the sick were healed. This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah,  “He took our sickness nesses and bore our diseases.

When Jesus notices how large the crowd was growing, he instructed his disciples to get ready to cross to the other side of the lake.

Just then one of the Jewish religious teachers said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you no matter where you go!”

But Jesus said, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but I, the Messiah, have no home of my own—no place to lay my head.”

Another of his disciples said, “Sir, when my father is dead, then I will follow you.”

But Jesus told him, “Follow me now! Let those who are spiritually dead care for their own dead.”

Then he got into a boat and started across the lake with his disciples. Suddenly a terrible storm came up, with waves higher than the boat.  But Jesus was asleep.

The Disciples went to him and wakened him shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re sinking!”

But Jesus answered, “O you men of little faith! Why are you so frightened?” Then he stood up and rebuked the wind and waves and the storm subsided and all was calm. The Disciples just sat there, awed! “Who is this,” they asked themselves, “that even the winds and the sea obey him?”

Sam’s Response

He Works according to his word.

There is tons of prophetic scripture that predicts things to come. God’s plans will be fulfilled with or without you. He does desire for us to have ears that hear him.

I find it amazing that the disciples doubt in the midst of Jesus remains. They had walked a many miles with him and he had done miraculous healings and casting out of demons every where he went.

Yet here the disciples are fearing for their lives and Jesus awakes and rebukes the storm. And he says. “o you men of little faith!”

Jesus knows the walk towards him is filled with doubt at times. I don’t think there is a single believer that has walked a path never doubting.

Our faith is being refined and sifted daily to bring us to a higher place where WE can move mountains. But first we must be obedient to the word and display our faith in a way where others can “see” it.

Have you ever met a completely faith filled person? For me, there is no question when I see the Joy of the Lord all over someone. It is a beautiful sight to see. There is a glow and warmth to that person and they have a servants heart.

In a self-fish world in which we are taught it is all about me, it is easy to miss what God has for us if we are not tuned into his channel.

One of the ways we can “Tune Into” God’s Channel is by obedience to his Word. Then, God can work in us a new way that allows us to move through the walls that are holding us back.

Do you have a wall that is holding you back?

God, I asked that you reveal yourself to us today. Let us be led by the Spirit of God and let us meditate on your word day and night. Fill us with Joy, peace and Love. Those are the fruits of the spirit that you desire for us. Let us NOT lean unto our own understanding, but to lean on YOU and your Holy Word.

In Jesus’ Name we Pray.
