Scripture verse of the day
Isaiah 58 :8
If you do these things, Bible said his own glorious light on you. He will heal you; your godliness will lead you forward, and goodness will be a shield before you, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from a high
Scripture reading of the day
Jeremiah 33:3 — 16
Ask me and I will tell you some remarkable secrets about what is going to happen here. For though you have torn down the houses of the city, and the king’s palace too, for materials to strengthen the walls against the siege guns of the enemy, yet the Babylonians will enter, and the men of the city are already as good as dead, for I am determined to destroy them in my furious anger. I have abandoned them because of all their wickedness, and I will not pity them when they cry for help.
Nevertheless the time will come when I heal Jerusalem’s damage and give her prosperity and peace. I will rebuild the cities of both of Judah and Israel and restore their fortunes. And I will clense away all their sins against me, and pardon them. Then the city will be an honor to me, and it will give me joy and be a source of praise and glory to me before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world to see the good I do for my people and will tremble with awe!
The Lord declares that the happy voices of bridegrooms and of brides, and the joyous song of those bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord will be heard again the studentin this doomed land. The people will say: praise the Lord! For he is good and his mercy endures forever! For I will make this land happier and more prosperous than it’s ever been before. This land — though every man and animal in the city is doomed — will once more see shepherds leading sheep and lambs. Once again their flocks will prosper in the mountain villages and in the city’s east of the Philistine plain, and all the cities of the Nageb, in the land of Benjamin, the vicinity of Jerusalem and in all the cities of today. Yes, the day will come, says the Lord, but I will do for Israel and Judah all the good I promised them.
At that time I will bring to the throne the true son of David, and he shall rule justly. In that day the people of the Judah and Jerusalem shall live in safety and their motto will be the Lord is our righteousness!
Sam’s response
The power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus still reigns today just as it did when Jesus walked the earth. When Jesus left he remarked that we would do even greater works than he. Those words were not just for the apostles that needed training. Those words are for anyone who believes in Christ.
Our faith and our walk with the Lord is a journey of Hope and great expectations. If you believe the Bible, then you know heaven awaits all of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This time that we are here to flesh, is only a short time and is also stated that this is not our home. We can all look forward to a day when we will walk with the Lord, when all the pain that we see around us and all the suffering that we see will be washed away by the blood of Christ.
As we pass through tests and trials, our faith is refine and there is chance for growth. There is the opportunity to move closer to the glory and perfection that we know Christ walked in he was here.
I hope in my own walk and come to a place where my faith is so strong that I to can lay hands on others and they will be healed instantly just as Jesus did when he was here.
I’m in my third year of reading Smith Wigglesworth’s daily devotion. Of all the readings I’ve done around Christianity in faith, Smith Wigglesworth was a man who did the same kind of healing that Jesus had done when he was here. I’m sure you to have read or listen to others who have also walked in this great faith the point where they also were able to heal others.
Lord, I pray for you to break into our lives and to help us increase our belief and faith in you. Help us understand what it is you have for us, and give us the courage and strength to walk on the path that you have laid out for us. Holy Spirit we invite you into our lives so you can guide us, teach us, and help us to walk in the same authority of Christ and perform great miracles and works in the name of Jesus and for the glory of God. Amen
