Scripture Reading of the Day

Luke 9: 1-11

One Day Jesus called  together his 12 apostles and gave them authority over all demons–power to cast them out–and to heal all diseases. then he sent them away to tell everyone about the coming of the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

“Don’t even take along a walking stick,” he instructed them, “nor a beggar’s bag, nor food, nor money. Not even an extra coat. Be a guest in only one home at each village.”

“If the people of a town won’t listen to you when you enter it, turn around and leave, demonstrating God’s anger against it by shaking its dust from your feed as you go”

So they began their circuit of the villages, preaching the Good News and healing the sick.

When reports of Jesus’ miracles reached Herod, the governor, he was worried and puzzled, for some were saying, “this is John the Baptist come back to life again”, and others, “It is Elijah or some another ancient prophet risen from the dead.” There rumors were circulating all over the land.

“I beheaded John,” Herod said, “so who is this man about whom I hear such strange stories?’ and he tried to see him.

After the apostles returned to Jesus and reported what they had done, he slipped quietly away with them toward the city of Bethsaida. but the crowds found out where he was going and followed. And he welcomed them, teaching them again about the kingdom of God and curing those who were ill.

Sam’s Response….

Have you ever said, “I don’t feel like God is Here?”

I know I have said this and also “Where is God in all of this?”

Many of us exclaim that we need to feel the presence of God…

This is backwards…

We need to believe in the one he has sent. His name is Jesus. He had the power in the above story to pass on his abilities to the 12 apostles and they went out and performed the same kind of miracles that Jesus did.

Salvation is for all!

Healing is For ALL!

The baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT is for ALL!

When we are in the midst of a storm in our lives, it is easy to look at the mess and say “where is God?”

Instead, I ask you through this time, to say…”God, I believe in the one you sent. I trust you and believe in your Holy Word. I believe when Jesus left, that you sent another to comfort us, The Holy Spirit. I don’t fully understand this situation, But I fully understand and believe in the Word of God as the light and path I choose to follow no matter what I see going on around me. I will praise you in the storm, Lord…”

This is Faith!

May you trust God and turn to his Holy Word for your guidance and direction in your life. May you not say …Well, I don’t feel the presence of God in my life…Instead, Trust and believe that God is With you!
