Welcome to the word of God online featuring the living Bible
Bible study of the book of Hebrews
Hebrews 2:1 – 4 from the living Bible
So we must listen very carefully to the truths we have learned, or we may drift away from them. Since the messages from Angels have always proved true and people have always been punished for disobeying them, what makes us think that we can escape if we are indifferent to this great salvation announced by the Lord Jesus himself, and passed on to us by those who also heard him speak?
God always has shown us that these messages are true by signs and wonders in various miracles and by giving certain special abilities from the Holy Spirit to those who believe; yes, God has assigned such gifts each of us.
In the verses above it starts out by talking about spiritual drifting. Spiritual drifting is a real concern for most of us it is not something that just happens overnight. Typically this spiritual drifting involves a lack of prayer life, skipping church, and losing the focus of God as our first priority in life. We must continually be on the alert against the dangers of spiritual drifting.
Once you’ve heard the true, and know the truth of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, it is difficult to play in the middle-of-the-road. Jesus warned of this talked about being lukewarm. In our day comes when we stand for our Lord to give an account as all will, I don’t believe either you or I want to hear the words from Jesus that he did not know us. Prevent this from happening must be vigilant in seeking God. You must also always plays God in the highest priority in our lives on an ongoing daily basis.
Hebrews 2: 5 – 9 from the living Bible
In the future world we are talking about will not be controlled by Angels. No, for in the book of Psalms David says to God, “what is mere man that you are so concerned about? And who is the son of man you are so highly? Though you may even lower than the angels for a little while, now you have crowned him with glory and honor. And you put him in the charge of everything there is. Nothing is left out.”
We have not yet seen all of this takes place, but we do see Jesus – for a while was a little lower than angels – crowned now by God glory and honor because he suffered death for us. Yes, because of God’s great kindness, Jesus tasted death for everyone in all the world.
In breaking down these versus his best to look at Psalms 8 to get a full understanding of our position.
Psalms 8 from living Bible
oh Lord our God, the Majesty and glory of your name fills all the earth and overflows the heavens. You have taught the little children to praise you perfectly. Made their example shame and silence your enemies!
When I look up into the night skies and see the works of your fingers – the moon and the stars you have made – I cannot understand how you can bother me your puny man, to pay any attention to him! And yeah you have made him only the little lower than the angels, and placed a crown of glory and honor upon his head.
You have put him in charge of everything you need; everything is put under his authority: all sheep and oxen, and wild animals to, the birds and fish, all the life in the sea. Oh Jehovah, our Lord, the majesty and glory of your name fills the earth.
Although God’s plan was to give us dominion over everything here on earth, there is no question that is not the case. With the constant invasion of sin in our lives, we tend to get frustrated by our own circumstances defeated by various temptations. Enter into the equation Jesus. He suffered and died for you and I. Through Christ, whom by his sufferings in his glory when he was meant to be. You and I by understanding who Jesus is, and closely looking at what he told us, and how to live, can each day become more Christlike. This is what God wants. To emulate Christ is the goal of the Christian while here on earth.
