All of you who have our kind of faith. The faith I speak of is the kind that Jesus Christ our God and Savior gives to us. How precious it is, and how just and good he is to give this same faith to each of us.

Daily Scripture Reading of The Day

2 Peter 1:1-11

All of you who have our kind of faith. The faith I speak of is the kind that Jesus Christ our God and Savior gives to us. How precious it is, and how just and good he is to give this same faith to each of us.

Do you want more and more of God’s Kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better and better. For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life. He even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us. And by that same might power he has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings he has promised: for instance the promise to save us from the lust and rottenness all around us, and to give us his own character.

But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do. Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you. This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply. The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind indeed, or at least very shortsighted, and has forgotten that God delivered him from the old life of sin so that now he can live a strong, good life for the Lord.

So, dear brothers, work hard to prove that you really are among those that you really are among those God has called and chosen, and then you will never stumble of fall away. And God will open wide the gate of heaven for you to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sam’s Response

Our Faith is very precious, it is not to be wasted or stymied. God has called us into his own. Any hindrances that can keep you from moving forward in Christ need to be dealt with. This can be a stumbling block where we can allow something to be between us and God.

This Gift God has given us, a precious faith, allows us to walk in total victory and we are able to triumph under ALL circumstances. Not some, but all…this comes not from ourselves but from total confidence and trust in God. There is no other way into the power of God except through a broken spirit.

When we can say, as Paul said…I live no longer…

We completely allow Jesus to control the reins of our lives. We give up our desires and replace them with the Word of God and We come to a place where we long to have the word imprinted upon our hearts to the point where what we speak is not of our own minds, but it is the will and thoughts of the Holy Spirit who is living within us.

How can this occur?

Let’s look to the scriptures…

From Romans 10:16-17

But not everyone who hears the Good News has welcomed it, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed me when I told them?” Yet Faith comes from listening to the Good News-The Good News about Christ.

There is a saying that Repetition is the mother of all learning. One way we can be sure our faith is growing is reading and listening to the Word of God daily. Putting God first in our lives will be rewarded. God can restore and move out hindrances from our lives if only we believe and trust God. We must come under the influence of our Holy Spirit and move out of our way and will and subject ourselves to God’s Will. When we do this, we will see that God has a greater plan for us in the future which is beyond anything we could of ever dreamed of.

Are you willing?

Will you come to the Lord and let him transform your life?

Will you be obedient to the Word and make your faith more precious then any gold or silver?

I pray that you will allow yourself to be given to God fully and wholly and be transformed by the Word of God one day at a time.
