All honor to God, the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ; for it is his boundless mercy has given us the privilege of being born again, so that we are now members of God’s own family.  Now we live in the hope of eternal life because Christ rose again from the dead.  And God has reserved for his children the priceless gift of eternal life; it is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  In God, in his mighty power, will make sure that you get there safely to receive it, because you are trusting him.  It will be yours in that coming last day for all to see.  So be truly glad!  There is wonderful joy ahead, even though the going was rough for a while down here.

These trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure.  It is being tested as fire test goal in purifies it – and your faith is far more precious to God than mere goal.  So if your faith remain strong after being tried in the test tube of fiercy trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return.

You love him even though you have never seen him; though not seeing him, you trust him; and even now you are a happy with the inexpressible joy that comes from heaven itself.  And your further reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls

This salvation was something that profits did not fully understand.  Though they wrote about it, they had many questions as to what it all could mean.  They wondered what the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about, for he told them to write down the events which, since then, have happened to Christ: is suffering, and his great glory afterwards.  And they wondered when and to whom all this would happen.

They were finally told that these things would not occur doing their lifetime, but long years after, doing yours.  And now at last this good news as been plainly announced to all of us.  It was preached to us in the power of the same heaven – sent Holy Spirit who spoke to them; and it is also strange and wonderful and even the angels in heaven would give a great deal to know more about it.  So now you can look forward soberly and intelligently to more of God’s kindness to you in Jesus Christ returns.

Obey God because you are his children; does slip back into your old ways – doing evil because you knew no better.  But be holy now in everything you do, just as the Lord is holy, who invited you to be his child.  He himself has said you must be holy, for I am holy

And remember that your heavenly father to whom you pray has no favorites.  He will judge you with perfect justice for everything you do; so act and reverent fear of him from now on until you get to heaven.

God paid a ransom to save you from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take, and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver, as you very well know; but he paid for you with her precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

God chose him for this purpose long before the world began, but only recently he was brought into public view, in these last days, as a blessing to you.

Because of this your trust can be in God who raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.  Now your faith and hope can rest in him alone.  Now you can have real love for everyone because your souls have been cleansed from selfishness and hatred when you trust in Christ to save you; so see to it that you really do love each other warmly, with all your heart’s.

For you have a new life.  It was not passed on to you from your parents, for the life they gave you will fade away.  This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ, God ever – living message to men.

Sam’s response

In reading the daily devotion from Smith Wigglesworth, he says the Lord allows you to be tempted to the very helped, but he will never allow you to be defeated if you walk in obedience.

I would have to say the key word in that whole phrase is if.  I had temptations in my life that I look back on and see that I missed the if part.  I leaned onto my own understanding instead of God’s.  I put down the Bible and let the temptation consume my life.  This is not were God wanted me to be, but I walked away and forgot about obedience to the Lord.

It says above that these trials are brought forth to see if our faith is strong and pure. Each time the trial comes our way we have the opportunity to see God in the midst of it, or we have the opportunity to focus on the trial and not see God.

The great news is that Jesus is going to return.  We as Christians have much to look forward to.  I believe it is very important that we focus on what is to come and keep this in the forefront of our minds as we walked through and on the earth for the time that we are here.  If we truly understand what Christ day and trust that there will come a day when all that we see with our eyes here on earth, will fade away.

Although we have never seen God we trust God.  We know the Scriptures were inspired by God and written by man.  When we invite the spirit of the Lord into our day, we can see God at work, and the key word is if we are obedient.

For me, obedience today is not what it used to mean to me as far as applying it to God’s word.  Today, I find joy in being obedient to the Lord.I love Jesus, he is my savior, he is my guide, he is the only one with the answers when I struggle with the day-to-day issues of life.

The good news as it is referred to is just that, it is good news.  The time we live in currently when you look at what the world is saying it is in direct contrast to what God says.  We are called to rein in life as it says in Romans 5:17.  We are to believe and truly know that greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world 1John 4: 4.  I must walk each day with gladness and joy no matter what temptations come our way, no matter what trials come our way.  We have the opportunity in every trial to grow in our faith if we will trust God completely and if we will be obedient.  So the next time a trial comes your way, look up and look in the word in praise God in the midst of all of it, and you’ll find a peace that is beyond any understanding at this world can offer.
