Matthew 17; 14-21
When they arrived at the bottom of the hill, a huge crowd was waiting for them. A man came and knelt before Jesus and said,
“Sir, have mercy on my son, for he is mentally deranged, and in great trouble, for he often falls into the fire or into the water; but they couldn’t cure him.
Jesus replied, “Oh, you stubborn, faithless people! How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me.” Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy and it left him, and from that moment the boy was well.
Afterwards the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast that demon out?”
” Because of your little faith,” Jesus told them. “For if you had faith even as small as a tiny mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would go far away. Nothing would be impossible.
But this kind of demon won’t leave unless you have prayed and gone without food.”

Do you know how small a mustard seed is?
Mustard seeds are about one-sixteenth of an inch in diameter. They are smaller than a peppercorn or clove. the French have been using mustard seeds as a spice since 800a.d.. the mustard seed is famous for mustard.
Faith of a mustard seed is not a large request from Jesus.
Yet he says “”For if you had faith even as small as a tiny mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would go far away. Nothing would be impossible.”
Nothing would be impossible…
I am a sports Fan and in particular a New England Sports fan. I LOVE basketball and have played it and watched it for just about all of my life.
Last Year the Boston Celtics won the NBA championship for the first time since 1986. It had been a long drought for a great franchise.
At the end of Game 6 when they beat L.A. By 30 points, they interviewed Kevin Garnett. Garnett had been in the NBA for alot of years and has been played at a high level and made the all star team just about every year of his career.
BUT he had never won a Championship…this eluded him for most of his career.
When they won, and interviewed him just a couple of minutes after the game was over…The reporter asked him how he felt…At the Top of his lungs, on T.V. …he shouted… “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE” . It was a mighty roar from a battle tested warrior.
Our Faith will be tested….Our Faith will grow…
Sometimes it is hard to imagine the miracles of Jesus and have the faith that we can do more. The Natural world around us has so many limitations on “WHAT WE CAN DO” … The internal struggle is pulling our faith down and saying, “you cannot do this”! It is filled with unbelief…we are bombarded with thoughts and voices that say No Way…
But the Voice of Jesus tells us That NOTHING IS IMPOSSLBE With Faith.
And we need only to have the faith of a mustard seed and ask and believe we will receive.
