Dealing with Addictions and No condemnation in Christ

Don’t be fooled into thinking that you are not subjective to addictions. Even if you do not think you have a personal addiction, you know someone who does.

Addictions are rampart in our society and affect all of us. If we are to really be honest with ourselves, we need to repent and realize that we are all tempted and fall under the sin that is in this world.

It can take many forms and is not defined within the box of Drugs, alcohol and gambling. It goes way beyond that and if you don’t think you have one, then as our pastor said today, then you are most likely dealing with one of the worst one of all….Pride

Pride runs deep and calls us all to become a part of it. I was talking to a Christian brother today and he spoke of the need for recognition. We all want to feel that we are contributing and most of us would like or desire to be recognized for what we do.

This need or pride is within us all and our ability to minister to others and be replaced by pride.

God does not want us to be prideful and we do not need to store up our treasures here. This is not our home.

We have much to look forward to and we also do not need to fear anything here. Nothing!

Honesty and sharing are critical to our development and our ability to move forward in the Kingdom.

So be honest about who you are and seek others that are willing to walk this thing out with you.

We find ourseveles caught between generations and changing times. Let us not walk in the spirit of condemnation for what we do. Let us bring it before the Lord and lay it down at the foot of the cross. God will take all our infirmities and wash us clean with the blood of Christ.

Christ is the spotless lamb that we desire to become.

To walk in theĀ  fullness of Christ….to become more Christlike in all we do.

Do not let a day go by when you do notĀ  praise the Lord for who he is and what he had done for us. This gift of salvation is amazing and redemptive.

We only need to bring our addictions into the light and ask God to take them away. When we ask with a heart that desires to be spotless, God will redeem us and wash us clean.

May God quicken your spirit and wash you clean today and everyday of your life.
May the peace of Christ fill your heart and allow you to be and to shine with the Glory of God as you walk through your day!

Glory To God!

Peace be with you!

The Choice to Make in the storms

By sam · Comments (0)
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Life certainly has its ups and downs and there is no question that storms will arise in your life. I know this from experience of facing many storms and the choices I have made in the mist of them.

Before coming to the Lord, I usually led with anger and self defeating thoughts about myself and my situation and usually looked to bloame the world or whomever was around me as well.

Needless to say, that didn’t work to well that is for sure.

The increase in needs…Are you ready?

By sam · Comments (0)
Sunday, April 13th, 2008

All around me in my daily walk I see so many unmet needs.

Even tonight in my local church SO many people came up to get prayer that are just worn out and tired.

There seems to be a huge increase lately in people's needs. Even in the church family there are so many people struggling with issues. Many lately seem to be around the financial end as things to purchase are blooming out of control.

I am writting this post to alert you, the readers, that the time is rapidly approaching where the needs of others are increasing. Stress in the family, stress in life, stress in the wallet…are all apart of what I am sensing and seeing.

Are you ready?

As Christians, I feel that it is a crucial time to prepare our hearts for the harvest. The needs are increasing and people are going to be looking for the answer.

You and I know the answer and his name is JESUS!

So, Press in closer to God…start  your day with the Lord and ask him for the Holy Spirit to be your guide and helper throughout the day. As God to prompt you for the needs of others and be prepared to act immediately when those needs arise.

I ask again…ARE YOU READY?

If not, seek the Lord with all your heart and all your mind and all your soul…be still and listen.

Psalms 51: Coming to A Place Where God Can Work In You

By sam · Comments (0)
Sunday, April 13th, 2008

So often people are asking and questioning about "Why is God not doing this or that" in my life?

In Psalms 51 we find David, broken before God. He comes to a place where he is pleading with God to forgive and wash away his sins. David knows he has sinned and is willing to accept, admit and come before the Lord.

Jacob at the JordanHe says in Psalms 51:16-17; "You don't want penance, if you did, how gladly I would do it! You aren't interested in offerings burned before you on the altar. It is a broken spirit you want—remorse and penitence. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not ignore.

Often we wrestle with things within this world and we are fighting our way to get our way. I have lived my life trying to do this on my own and wrestling with this world. How difficult and unfulfillable time I had doing it that way.

Also, as a man of God, learning and growing in Christ, I have wondered why at times things were NOT going a certain way.

God wants you to come to a place where HE can work in you. As stated above, REPENT before the Lord!  He knows all the sins and ways that you have walked.

How do I Deal with Burnout?

By sam · Comments (0)
Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Wow, God has been working double time and pouring out in my life. It is really amazing to watch him at work and answering prayers. God is SOOOO GOOD..

Some of the answered prayers in my life has been a major increase in work. I work from home and love it, and lately I have had more work than anyone person could handle. I have been getting very little rest and working sometimes 16-18 hours in a single day.

So how do I prevent burning out?

This morning it is as if God just popped me in the face as I opened his word and said "HEAR, YOU NEED TO READ THIS"

I have 2 main bibles I use and enjoy. One as you know is the living bible, which is a paraphrase but I really love the way it reads and over time I will continue to add scripture from that bible.

The 2nd is Charles Stanley's Life Principles bible. I really believe that the Word of God is living, breathing and as pertainant today as it was yesterday and days long gone by.

Charles Stanley is an amazing man of God and he puts things forth in his bible that are VERY applicable to you and I.

Today I landed on page 822 and it was "HOW DO I DEAL WITH BURNOUT?"

Last night, once again I was up till 3 in the morning working on todays presentation for my business. But Last night I was feeling the burnout sensation as I was very tired…

SO….

Turning to Isaiah 40, Versus 28-31

Have you not know? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

He give power to the weak, And to those who have no might he increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Lord, renew my strength today, help me to NOT burnout with all that is going on. Please put people in my paths that can help and take some of the work load off of me. Thank you Lord for the increase of my territory and blessing my business. Thank you for answered Prayers Lord. You are SO awesome and I love you with all my heart, all my mind and all my soul.

Set Me Free From the Chains That Bound Me

By sam · Comments (0)
Monday, March 17th, 2008

There is so many that are captive to the chains and bondage of this world. It is very sad when you really open your eyes and look close at all the bondage that sin can have in your life. Cigarettes for a long time had a strong hold in my life. I am asthmatic and I still smoked…how smart was that?

God had delivered me from many of my issues through a continual asking. He has been very faithful to remove the desires. Thank God that my lungs are OK…I still have asthma but I my lungs are amazingly in good shape all things considered.

For a couple of weeks we have been really focused on our teens at church and praying over them. Today the schools are filled with lost teens who have grown up in a generation where God is not the focal point of the home. As a matter of fact, this is really the first generation where God is not in the home of many of our teens.

These teens (I have 2) are often falling into the traps of addiction, lust and profanity at a very early age. The whole issue of cutting was really foreign to me until the last year or so. Personally I have a real hard time fully understanding why someone wants to cut themselves. But it is not about me.

Teens are having sex casually and openly at a time that they are trying to figure out who they are. Today sex is just sex…for many it holds the same meaning as talking about American Idol amongst their friends. Swearing is part of the culture and my teens on any given day are subjected to 200 F bombs at school. Drugs are also everywhere and most are experiencing them or are becoming addicted to them.

All Christians need to stand and pray for our teens. There are serious issues at play here and I know many of you would argue that this is just a generational thing. But NOT this time….there are forces at play here that are trying to destroy our teens.

They need to hear the message of Jesus and be taught who and what Jesus did for each of us

We need to help them to become FREE from all of the issues they face.
