Here is another Promise made by our God…
in 2Kings verse 38 and 39
"And the covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget, nor shall you fear other gods. But the Lord your God you shall fear and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies."
There are lots of promises that God makes in the bible and 2008 will be the year we uncover them one by one.
In Exodus 33 Moses is speaking to God and in Verse 12 it goes like this…
Moses talked there with the Lord and said to him, "You have been telling me, "take these people to the Promised Land, but you haven't told me whom you will send with me. You say you are my friend, and that I have found favor before you, please if this is really so, guide me clearly along the way you want me to travel so that I will understand you and walk acceptably before you. For don't forget that this nation is your people."
(and then God makes a promise to be there for Moses in verse 14)
And the Lord replied, "I myself will go with you and give you success."
Invite the Lord to be with you, he desires to have and give you success, just ask and believe!
The Lord Promises and is Always Abiding…
In Numbers chapter 6 we start at verse 22….Now the Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron and his sons that they are to give this special blessing to the people of Israel:
May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord's face radiate with joy because of you; may he be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you his peace.
This is how Aaron and his sons shall call down my blessings upon the people of Israel; and I myself will personally bless them."
In Genesis 8 and verse 22 we see Gods Promise to provide and rely on him.
This part of the bible is discussing Noah and the great flood. Just before verse 22 we see that Noah offers Burnt offerings on the alter to God. This is the first thing that Noah does upon leaving the Ark. Noahs Priiority is to first worship God.
God Promises that "I will never again curse the ground for mans sake, although the imagination of mans heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
Then in Verse 22 we read
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, Cold and Heat, Winter and summer, And day and night, Shall not cease.
Here God promises mean the difference between life and death. Even when things look darkest, we can depend of Gods Word.
Jude 24 and 25
And Now—All glory to him who alone is God, who saves us through Jesus Christ our Lord; yes, splendor and majesty, all power and authority are his from the beginning; his they are and his they evermore shall be, And he is able to keep you from slipping and falling away, and to bring you, sinless and perfect, into his glorious presence with mighty shouts of everlasting joy.
Dec.15th 2007 we start a new area of this website and it is titled God's Promises. From now through 2008 we will begin to look at what god promises to do for us sinners. We are all sinners and have come short of the glory of God. But God makes promises and God does not break his word. In the bible it says God's word will not return void.
God had keep me from slipping and falling for sure. As I have looked back and my life I see the hand of God on my life as even though I have gone through some very difficult times, God had made sure I make it through in times when I was not capable of seeing myself through.
Psalms 48:14 (from the living bible) For this great God is our God Forever and ever. He will be our guide until we die.
May the Lord guide you as you follow his word and may the Lord keep you from falling. Seek the lord today with all your heart and all your mind and all your soul.
May you have a blessed day
