Scripture verse of the day second Corinthians 3:9 if the plan that leads to doom was glorious, much more glorious is the plan that makes men right with God.

Scripture readings from the living Bible

The Living Bible

Scripture reading of the day Psalm 11

how dare you tell me, “flee to the mountains for safety,” when I am trusting in the Lord?

For the wicked have strong their bows, drawn the arrows tight against the bow strings, and aimed from ambush at the people of God.

“Law and order have collapsed,” we are told “what can the righteous do but flee?”

But the Lord is still in his heavenly temple; he still rules from heaven. He closely watches everything that happens here in Earth. He puts the righteous and the wicked to the test; he hates those loving violence. He will rain down fire and brimstone on the wicked and scorch them with his burning wind.

For God is good, and he loves goodness; the godly shall see his face.

Sam’s response

Outward appearanceso many TV shows, and so much focus today is placed upon the outward appearance of how we look. Fancy clothes, cool cars, white teeth, expensive sunglasses, being super thin, and more, are all focused around the outward appearance of who we are.

But that is not what God looks at when he looks at you and I. We should be much more concerned about our heart then how we look. What is going on inside of us is going to be the reflection of what is going on outside of us.God Looks at the Heart

There is nothing more beautiful than righteousness!

One of the killers of righteousness is condemnation. Condemnation will steal your joy and make you question your righteousness. If the Bible is the plumbline of your life, then you must understand that there is no condemnation in Christ. The Bible says it therefore it is.

Striving to be more like Christ is God’s desire for you and I. If that’s the case, we must also strive to believe what the Bible says and walk it out in our life. When we face difficult situations and we do not have the answers, we can always look to the holy Bible and to the word of God to help us with any difficulty that we face.

When we are trusting God there’s no reason to flee to the mountain.

Welcome to the word of God online

August 12, 2009

Scripture verse of the day Ephesians 4:8 the Psalmist tells about this, for he says that when Christ returned triumphantly to heaven after his resurrection and victory over Satan, he gave generous gifts to men.

Scripture reading of the day first Thessalonians 4:1 — 12

let me add this, dear brothers: you already know how to please God in your daily living, for you know the commands we gave you from the Lord Jesus himself. Now we beg you — yes, we demand of you in the name of the Lord Jesus — that you live more and more closely to that ideal. For God wants you to be holy and pure, and to keep clear of all sexual sin so that each of you will marry in holiness and honor — not in lustful passion as the heathen do, in their ignorance of God and his ways.

And this also is God’s will: that you never cheat in this matter by taking another man’s wife, because the Lord will punish you terribly for this as we have solemnly told you before. God has not called us to be dirty-minded and full of lust, but to be holy and clean. If anyone refuses to live by these rules he is not disobeying the rules of men of God who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

But concerning the pure brotherly love that there should be among God’s people, I don’t need to say very much, I’m sure! For God himself is teaching you to love one another. Indeed, your love is already strong towards all the Christian brothers throughout your whole nation. Even so, dear friends, we beg you to love them more and more. This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business and doing your own work, just as we told you before.

As a result, people who are not Christians will trust and respect you, and you will not need to depend on others for enough money to pay your bills

Sam’s response

when we are in Christ we can replace the but and if’s in our lives with God’s command of shall and will. All of us have weaknesses that can only be perfected through Christ.

Living a godly life requires recognition of our brokenness and our sin. We must be willing to turn this over to God into allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to develop more Christ like character.

Yes, God has gifts for you and I that he is waiting to bestow upon us, but if we deny the Holy Spirit in our lives, we are denying God, and we are denying the opportunity to receive those gifts.

In reading Smith Wigglesworth today, he says “you must decide some things. If you are not baptized, you must seek the baptism of the Spirit of God. And if there is anything that is marred the fruit or interfered with all of his plan, I implore you to let the blood so cover, let the anointing of Christ so come, let the vision of Christ be so seen, that you will have a measure that will take all of that God has for you.”

God does perfect his people… he wants us to move beyond where we are at and move closer to Christ likeness.

The first step of this is to recognize that none of us are free from sin and weaknesses in our life that tempt us and pulls away from God.

Bring your sin and weakness to the foot of the cross and give it to God. Ask him to take away any thoughts or desires that are not pure and holy.

Are you a peacemaker or a peace breaker

[mc id="749" type="audio"]Are You A Peacemaker or a Peace Breaker[/mc]

Welcome to the word of God online for August 8, 2009

Scripture verse of the day is from Ephesians 4:3 which says “try always to be led along together by the Holy Spirit, and so be at peace with one another”

All Scripture readings come from the living Bible

Scripture reading of the day is from Matthew 5:9, 17 – 24

Matthew 5:9 happy are those who strive for peace — they shall be called the sons of God.

Matthew 5:17 — 24 “don’t misunderstand why I have come — it isn’t to cancel the laws of Moses and the warnings of the profits. No, I came to fulfill them, and to make them all come true.

With all the earnestness I have Eisai: every law in the book will continue until its purpose is achieved.

And so if anyone breaks the least commandment, and teaches others to, he shall be least in the kingdom of heaven. But those who teach God’s laws and obey them will be great in the kingdom of heaven.

“But I warn you — unless your goodness is greater than that of the Pharisees and other Jewish leaders, you can’t get into the kingdom of heaven at all!

“Under the laws of Moses the rule was, if you kill, you must die.
But I have added to that rule and tell you that if you are only angry even in your own home, you are in danger of judgment! If you call your friend an idiot you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse him, you are in danger of the fires of hell.
“So if you are standing before the altar and the temple offering a sacrifice to God, and suddenly remember that a friend has something against you, leave your sacrifice they are beside the altar and go and apologize and be reconciled to him, and then come and offer to sacrifice to God.

Sam’s response

So are you a peacemaker or a peace breaker?

This may be one of the most important pieces of Scripture are living a Christian life in the Bible.

Why?
I think it is fairly easy for us to go and asked for forgiveness when we do something wrong to another, but it’s a whole different ballgame when somebody has done something to us and does not come and apologize.

This is a very difficult thing to do, but, this is what we are called to become. A person who can forgive another regardless of the posture of their heart.

This is the heart of a peace maker. One who is to go much deeper into the word of God and has the willingness to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. This bond is between you and God not between you and another.

There are plenty of people who are peace breakers, including many Christians who have a unforgiving heart towards others.
I believe that your faith will not grow if you have seeds of unforgiveness that have been sown due to the acts of another person towards you. I have experienced this firsthand and still today have issues around this area of grace and forgiveness. Is it holding me back? I would say yes!

Reconciliation with your relationship with God is not dependent upon another person saying sorry or that he  will you forgive me. The peacemaker that I am talking about comes from the Spirit of God and is willing to go to another and let them know that you love them despite what they have done. This is the heart of our Savior. This is what we pursue… to become peacemakers and unite others, versus holding on to past resentments and putting a wedge between you and your God.

Closing prayer… God, help us to see those that we have not reconciled with or forgiven. It is clear from today’s Scripture Lord, that to become a peacemaker, we must seek reconciliation for ourselves and with our relationship with you, versus reconciliation with others who may not be willing or ready to be reconciled.

So God I ask you to pour into our hearts your love which conquers all. God I asked for each of us that you do not let time go by with these resentments that go unresolved. God thank you for opening my eyes today to your message and your word into what I have to do to have a deeper and more intimate relationship with you. Your word is our light, our guide, and gives us the opportunity to become better each and every day if we not only listen to your word but act on it as well. So God give each of us to ability to act upon your word today! In Jesus name we pray — amen

Scripture verse of the day Matthew 28:19
therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture readings are from the living Bible

“brothers and fathers, listen to me as they offer my defense.” (When they heard him speaking in Hebrew, the silence was even greater.)

“I am a Jew,” he said, “born in Tarus, a city in Cilicia, but educated here in Jerusalem under Gamaliel, at whose feet I learned to follow our Jewish laws and customs very carefully. I became very anxious to honor God in everything I did, just as you have tried to do today. And I persecuted the Christians, hounding them to death, binding and delivering both men and women to prison. The high priest or any member of the Council can testify that this is so. For I ask them for letters to the Jewish leaders in Damascus, with instructions to let me bring any Christian I found to Jerusalem in chains to be punished.

“As I was on the road, nearing Damascus, suddenly about noon a very bright light from heaven shone around me. And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”

“Who is it speaking to me, sir?” I asked. And he replied, “I am Jesus of Nazareth, the one you are persecuting.” The men with me saw the light but didn’t understand what was said.

“And I said, what shall I do Lord? And the Lord told me, get up and go into Damascus and there you will be told what awaits you in the years ahead. I was blinded by the intense light, and had to be led into Damascus by my companions.

“There a man named Ananias, as godly a man as you could find for obeying the law, and well thought of by all the Jews of Damascus, came to me, and standing beside me said, “Brother Saul, receive your sight!” In that very hour I could see him.

“Then he told me, “the God of our fathers has chosen you to know his will and to see the Messiah and hear him speak. You are to take his message everywhere telling what you have seen and heard. And now, why delay? Go and be baptized, and be cleansed from your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”

Sam’s response

have you had a Damascus i experience in your life?

Are you sharing the good news with others?

One of the main reasons God calls us is in some form or fashion he wants us to pass on through us the good news to other people.

To do this we have to commit our lives to God’s will and not are will. To be effective in the light of God’s eyes we must hunger for more of the word and less of the world.

Do you put God first in your life?

Walking the road of a Christian is a blessed have to be on, but it is also one that requires a certain development of perseverance and a continual seeking of what God has for you. It may not always be clear what God is doing or where you are headed, but it is important to for the word of God into your life every day and put God first before the rest of what ever is going on in your life.

This is the great challenge that we face on an ongoing basis. It does not matter what happened yesterday in the sense that you can recommit your time and efforts to the word of God starting today.

We must not give up…

But we can choose to respond in love

[mc id="737" type="audio"]We Are Called To Walk In Love[/mc]
Today is August 6, 2009

Scripture verse of the day Ephesians 4:2

be humble and be gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s faults because of your love.

All Scripture reading comes from the living Bible

Scripture reading of the day Galatians 6:1 — 10

Dear brothers, if a Christian is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help them back on the right path, remembering that next time it might be one of you who is in the wrong.

Share each other’s troubles and problems, and so obey our Lord’s command. If anyone thinks he is too great to stoop to this, he is fooling himself. He is really a nobody.

Let everyone be sure that he is doing his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work well-done, and won’t need to compare himself with someone else.

Each of us must bear some faults and burdens of his own. For none of us is perfect!

Those were taught the word of God should help their teachers by paying them.

Don’t be misled; remember that you can’t ignore God and get away with it: a man will always reap just the kind of crop he sows! If he sows to please his own wrong desires, he will be planting seeds of evil and he will surely reap a harvest of spiritual decay and death; but if he plants the good things of the Spirit, he will reap the everlasting life which the Holy Spirit gives him. And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up. That’s why whenever we can we should always be kind to everyone, and especially to our Christian brothers.

Sam’s response

Looking at today’s Scripture verse of the day, we as Christians are asked to become humble and gentle. We are to be patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s faults because of our love for others.

This is a very powerful piece of Scripture and it is a big separator from how we are to live versus those who are in the world live. More often than not we see people holding grudges against each other, ticked off because someone has done them wrong, unforgiving, not patient, nor do we give people the benefit of the doubt or compassion when they fault against us.

The Scripture says in first John 4:17… as he is, so are we in this world. Whenever we question how are supposed to respond to a situation, as cliché as it may sound, we must ask ourselves how would Jesus respond. In the Scripture above as he is is talking about Jesus.

There will be no perfection in this world as long as we are here in as long as sin is rampant and running throughout the streets of our world. But we can choose to respond in love. There is no greater love than God has for you and I. We are called to respond in love.

To truly receive God into our lives we all had to come to a place where we were broken and willing to accept God’s hand. There may be times in your life when you come to a place where there seems to be no one thier with outstretched hands to help you. But God’s hand will always be there if your heart is open to him

To be able to bare other’s faults and deal with other people’s shortcomings, we must first be able to deal with our own and bear the consequences of the seeds that we sow.

To protect ourselves from stagnating in our Christian walk, we must take on and improve our ability to love as God loves us. This can be very difficult when faced with people who are worldly and who do not forgive, or who do not see the pain and suffering they are bringing to our lives. I am in such a situation is that right now and I’m trying very hard not to hate this person because of what they’ve done.

Closing prayer…
Lord, I ask for the Holy Spirit to wisdom in all things that I do. I ask you to quicken my spirit to recognize when I am off the path of truth. God… I ask you to continue to pour out your love into my eyes, my mind, in my heart so that I may walk and talk more like Jesus every day. Help me to bare other’s grievances and faults that come directly against me or my family and give me the compassion and the ability to love in a situation that most would walk in anger and resentment. I especially ask you to watch over my daughter and her mind as she walks some very difficult days within a relationship that is very important to her. And God you know the person I’m talking about and I have prayed for her over the years. I ask for a miracle to happen in this person’s life in which they will be broken enough to be able to get on their knees and come to you for the answers in their life. I pray this in Jesus’s name

Will God Hear You When You Cry Out For Him?

Welcome To The Word of God For July 30th 2009

Scripture Verse of the Day

2nd Corinthians 6:2

For God Say, “Your cry came  to me at a favorable time, when the doors of welcome were wide open. I helped you on a day when salvation was being offered.” At this moment God is ready to welcome you. TODAY he is ready to save you.

Scripture Reading of The Day From The Living Bible

1 John 1

Christ was alive when the world began, yet I myself have seen him with my own eyes and listened to him speak. I have touched him with my own hands. He is God’s message of Life. This one who is Life from God has been shown to us and we guarantee that we have seen him; I am speaking of Christ, who is eternal Life. He was with the Father and then was shown to us. Again I say, we are telling you about what we ourselves have actually seen and heard, so that you may share the fellowship and the joys we have with the Father and with Jesus Christ his son. And if you do as I say in this letter, then you, too, will be ful of joy and so will we.
