Daily scripture for Jan 11th 2008

Luke 9:1

One Day Jesus called together his 12 apostles and gave them authority over all demons—power to cast them out and to heal all diseases. Then he sent them away to tell everyone about the coming of the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Dont even take along a walking stick" he instructed them, " nor a beggar's bag, nor food, nor money. Not even an extra coat. Be a guest in only one home at each village."

If the people of the town won't listen to you when you enter it, turn around and leave, demonstrating God's anger against it by shaking its dust from your feet as you go."

So they began their circuit of the villages, preaching the Good News and healing the sick.

When reports of Jesus's miracles reached Herod, the governor, he was worried and puzzled, for some were saying, "This is John the Baptist, come back to life again." and others, "It is Elijah or some other ancient prophet risen from the dead." These rumors were circulating all over the land.

"I beheaded John," Herod said, "so who is this man about whom I hear such strange stories?" And he tried to seem him.

After the apostles returned to Jesus and reported what they had done, he slipped quietly away with them toward the city of Bethsaida. But the crowds found out where he was going, and followed. And he welcomed them, teaching them again about the Kingdom of God and curing those who were ill.

He Healed Them All

By sam · Comments (0)
Friday, January 11th, 2008

This morning I was doing my daily reading and was awestruck at the passage in Matthew 4.

After Jesus had been joined by Peter and Andrew and James and John, Jesus began his ministry and was preaching and teaching and healing.

In verse 23 it says "Jesus traveled all through Galilee teaching in the Jewish synagogues, every-where preaching the Good News about the Kingdom of Heaven. And he healed every kind of sickness and disease. The report of his miracles spread far beyond the boarder of Galilee so that the sick folk were coming to be headed from as far away as Syria. And whatever their illness and pain or if they were possessed by demons, or were insane, or paralyzed— HE HEALED THEM ALL

—————

It really struck me as I was reading that …. HE HEALED THEM ALL…..

How amazing is that…How wonderful is that…

Everyday we are blasted by all the healing powers of man…pills have become the crutch of us as a way to "Feel Better"…Yet Jesus needed no doctors, no pills…His healing Power came from God who at the wave of a hand, the rubbing of mud, or just the fact that the person "Believed in Jesus" was healed… ALL OF THEM..100% of them. ALL…..

It is just amazing and awesome to know that that power is at our fingertips….If only we Believe and trust in God.

Wow…

Psalms 20 And Where do YOU put your trust

By sam · Comments (0)
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

From my birth we are continually forming our belief systems and determining what to "TRUST"

These are typically formed by our surroundings and what are parents give us early on. The bonds that are built our first year of birth are critical to building this trust. Some get it and some don;'t.

But today I am here to ask you "Where do you put your trust?"

The tough thing for many people is to trust God requires a blind faith…In Hebrews 11:1 The Word of God says

What is Faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is  waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.

Faith is knowing God is working on your behalf on HIS SCHEDULE…

In Psalms 20 we see a promise from the Lord in response to faith. Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from His Holy Heaven..With the saving strength of his right hand.

It does not say he might save his anointed, or he may choose to answer. It says "I KNOW" and "HE WILL" I know = Faith–He will =assurance

Here is the rest of Psalms 20 from the Living bible paraphrased and published in 1972

Psalms 20

In your day of trouble, may the Lord be with you! May the God of Jacob keep you from all harm. May he send you aid forom his sanctuary in Zion. May he remember with pleasure the gifts you have given him, you sacrifices and burnt offerings. May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans. May there be shouts of Joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you. May he answer all your prayers!

God Save the king — I know he does! He hears me from the highest heaven and sends great victories. Some nations boast of armies and of weaponry, but our boast is in the Lord our God. Those nations will collapse and perish; We will arise to stand firm and sure!

Give victory to our king, O Lord; Oh hear our Prayer.

More New Beginnings for 2008 and beyond and for all time

Isaiah 43:19
For I'm going to do a brand new thing. See, I have already begun! Don't you see it? I will make  around through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home and create rivers for them in the desert.

Psalms 96:1
Sing a New song to the Lord! Sing it everywhere around the world!

Isaiah 65:16-17
And yet the days will come when all who invoke a blessing or take an oath shall swear by the GOD Of Truth; for I will put aside my anger and forget the evil that you did. For see, I am creating new heavens and a new earth—so wonderful that no one will even think about the old ones anymore.

Revelation 21:1-5

Then I saw a new earth (with no oceans) and a new sky, for the present earth and sky had disappeared. And I, John, Saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven. It was a glorious sight, beautiful as a bride at her wedding. I heard a loud shout from the throne saying, "Look, the home of God is now among them, and he will live with them and they will be his people; yes God himself will be among them. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and they shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever.
And the one sitting on the throne said, "See, I am making all things new!" And then he said to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.

The living bible online

 the living bible

January 7th 2008

Todays daily bible reading is in the book of Isaiah. Isaiah 53:1-11

But, Oh, How few believe! Who will listen? To whom will God reveal his saving-power? In God's eyes he was like a tender green shoot, sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground. But in our eyes there was no attractiveness at all, nothing to make us want him. We despised him and rejected him  — a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. WE turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. He was despised and we didn't care.

Yet it was our grief he bore, our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, for his own sins! But he was wounded and bruised for OUR sins. He was chastised so that we might have peace; he was lashed —and we were healed! We are the ones who strayed away like sheep! We, who left God's paths to follow our own. Yet  God laid on him the guilt and sins of every one of us!

He was oppressed and he was afflicted yet he never said a word. He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he stood silent before the ones condemning him. From prison and trial they led him away to his death. But who among the people of that day realized it was their sins that he was dying for—that he was suffering their punishment? He was buried like a criminal in a rich man's grave; but he had done no wrong, and had never spoken an evil word.
